My Articles

Sorry, I don't have a picture to go with this one.
I've been working a lot recently to begin writing again. I've signed up for a couple of websites where you submit articles and get paid for them. They work in different ways, and I'm not sure how lucrative they will turn out to be. But as Jose says, one doesn't do this type of thing to get rich, just to enjoy it.

So far I've only submitted to one website. This one bases payment on how many people read the article (although I guess you don't have to actually read it, just click on the link to view it). I've put links on the left side of this blog, under the title "My Articles". If you have a moment whenever you read this blog, to check out if there are new articles, I'd really appreciate it. And, if you know anyone who really needs the information in the article, forward it along.

When/If I ever make any money, I'll let you know!
Thanks!

PS. Help me think of new topics to write about! They should be things I know how to do, similar to the style of the articles I have posted. Leave me some ideas!

Villages around Toledo

It's really weird how my frame of mind can change so much depending on whether I'm in Spain or the US. It's probably a post for the other blog, but it's really obvious in the house hunt. Why, when in the US I'm perfectly happy to live in the middle of nowhere and drive everywhere, I'm now reluctant to move to a village with no supermarket, library or park? I fear I'm starting to have a European mentality regarding villages!!

We are now in the village hunt phase. Toledo, as charming as it is, nestled among mountains and the river Tajo, doesn't have a lot of space (and the space it has is very hilly!). So almost all (99%) of the housing you have is apartments, and not just any apartments, outrageously overpriced apartments. So, since my one requirement for our house is a backyard and Jose's requirement is cheap, we're scouting out all the villages surrounding Toledo. There are many, because we are not the first to have this idea! However, finding one that is actually a village and not a glorified suburb of Toledo is surprisingly difficult!

We're hoping for something like this ---------------->

<-------------------------Yet, not like this.

But here's a fun one. Some fruit and pumpkins in a fruit shop in one of the villages.

New blog and mini heater time

Another blog!
Come and join me! Here is where I'm going to keep tabs on all my projects for the year. Some future topics:

* Buying a house! Join Jose and me as we search villages around Toledo and (someday) houses!
* Writing! I've started submitting articles to a couple of websites. Help me find material, stay motivated and follow this new path. I have no idea where it's going, but I'm going to try to continue.
* Camino de Santiago????? Jose and I have been playing with this idea for next summer. Will we train for it? Will we actually do it?
* General fun stuff about my life in Toledo. Which is always interesting.

And some pictures, like this one of my mini-heater. It doesn't really go with the post, but I got it out this morning for the bathroom. Spain is experiencing aire polar (polar air) over the next few days, but I'll probably make do with my sweats and my mini-heater. (Jose never gets cold.)
